Right now in my movie room I have 5.1 setup with Denon 2400 and Klipsch speakers Looking into Atmos speakers and set up and wanted to see if I could get some pointers. This is good news! Now if I can find another player for the MKV files, try some other settings, perhaps convert them to mp4 or find mp4 versions of some of the other demos, I'll be happy. I quit and tried again and this time i got what seemed to be a good Atmos feed to the pre/pro. At first I only got 2 channel audio out, and then after messing with the audio setting, my Anthem pre/pro indicated Atmos, but the sound was nothing but buzzing. No joy.įortunately I had better luck with the MP4 Atmos demo files with the Quicktime player and Airplay. Using AirPlay to my ATV 4K the best I could get was a distorted 2 channel output. It brought up an unknown to me video player, VLC when I tried to play it on my Mac. My first attempt was Nature's Fury which is an mkv file. I can now report some success in getting the Atmos demos to play properly from my late 2013 MacBook Pro, at least the mp4 files. But that was over HDMI, not AirPlay and if the audio output is bitstream, well then maybe. mp4 container)Ĭlick to expand.I had doubts about the ability to play the Atmos demo files on from my Mac and output them to my ATV 4K via AirPlay, as my experience with REW is that it only recognizes 7.1 and not the Atmos channels. This isn't to deny the greater good that beats at the heart of liberalism - the dream of liberty itself. Three decades later in his new book, Liberalism and its Discontents, Fukuyama concedes liberal democracy is, as he writes, "under severe threat around the world", yet he still clings to its promise. (This means the camera doesn’t try to stay horizontal so flying feels fast and fun.) Nonetheless we still enjoyed switching the gimbal to FPV mode. Save for the deliberately slow Cine mode, both Normal and Sport feel a bit slower than pricier drones and that isn’t surprising. There are three different flight modes, easily switched by an on-screen button: Cine, P (Normal) and Sport. That means you’ll be up in the air and testing the drone’s limits very soon. It’s not over-the-top or boring, and leaves you far equipped to fly further than a simple video would. The app is equipped with a useful tutorial – made of clear animated graphics and on-screen instructions. The experience of getting started and into the air with the Mini SE is very similar to other DJI aircraft (like the Mavic 3 or Mini 3 Pro) because they all use the app DJI Fly. There is no on-board memory so you’ll need to supply one. The drone batteries can be charged in the charging hub, if you have it, or using the aircraft itself at the rear is a USB-C socket for that purpose and a slot for a MicroSD card. (Image credit: Adam Juniper/Digital Camera World) Midships is the power button and 4 lights to check the charge. These help the drone land, and “see” the ground so it can compensate for drift. It might not be enough to convince Mini 3 Pro owners to upgrade, however, so hopefully DJI has more up its sleeve, potentially in the form of camera improvements, a greater flight time and enhanced transmission technology.Seen from underneath, the Mini SE has vents at the front above the gimbal, and vision sensors at the rear flanking an IR sensor. This would be a nice additional feature, and bring the Mini 4 Pro’s obstacle avoidance tech in line with the more expensive Air 3 and Mavic 3 Pro. These could be facing upwards, and therefore enable omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, where the drone can see in every direction and stop itself from flying into objects above it, as well as in front and behind. It looks like there is a second set of sensors behind those pointing forwards. The quality isn’t great, but we can see how the shape of the front-facing obstacle avoidance system is different to that of the Mini 3 Pro. Igor Bogdanov also used his Quadro_News account on X to publish an image claiming to show the Mini 4 Pro. See more DJI Mini 4 Pro: Omnidirectional avoidance That way it fits nicely between the entry-level Mini 3 ($469) and the more advanced Air 3 ($1,099). Fifteen months is a fast turnaround for the Mini 4 Pro, but we don’t think it’s an impossible ask for DJI.Īs for the price, the Mini 4 Pro will likely cost roughly the same as the Mini 3 Pro, at $759 / £709 / AU$1,119. The company has previously released new models that month, including the Osmo Action 3 camera in 2022 and the Mavic Pro drone in 2016. DJI would surely see strong initial sales if its new, sub-250g drone arrived just a couple of weeks later.Īlthough the current Mini 3 Pro only came out 15 months ago, in May 2022, launching new drones in September isn’t out of the ordinary for DJI. Jasper Ellens also claims the DJI Mini 4 Pro could be released at the end of September.Įlsewhere, drone YouTuber The Drone Geek also says a late-September launch seems likely, especially with the new remote-identification rule coming into force in the US in the middle of the month. (Image credit: Peter Hoffmann) DJI Mini 4 Pro: price and release date rumors Similarly, a few extra minutes of flight time would be appreciated, but the Mini 3 Pro’s 47 minutes is already a minute ahead of the pricier Air 3. Improvements to the camera would always be welcome, but we can’t see DJI making a great deal of change here, as any major upgrades would see the Mini 4 Pro encroach on the new Air 3. Not much else is known about the Mini 4 Pro for now, but if the videos published online are genuine then it looks like development is somewhat advanced and a release date shouldn’t be too far away.Īs for what we expect to see, it wouldn't be surprising for DJI to equip the Mini 4 Pro with a new, fourth generation of its Ocusync connection technology, plus support for the new and more powerful RC 2 controller. This could mean omnidirectional avoidance technology like that seen on the new DJI Air 3. Videos published to X (formerly Twitter) by Igor Bogdanov, who has a strong track record for drone and action camera leaks, appear to show a more advanced obstacle avoidance system than that fitted to the Mini 3 Pro. Little is known for certain, but the Mini 4 Pro appears to be in the testing stage of development. DJI Mini 4 Pro: New features and upgrades The market is at an all-time high, and the mortgage industry is at an all-time high. The stock may also be subject to headline risk if interest rates start to spike, which many investors see as a real possibility. It may take weeks or months for the volatility that r/WallStreetBets triggered in Rocket’s shares to fully die down and for RKT stock to settle back to a stable level. Rocket’s business is booming and the company is growing, while AMC and GameStop are hemorrhaging cash. It also got the shares unfairly lumped in with so-called r/WallStreetBets “meme” stocks like GameStop (NYSE: GME) and AMC Entertainment (NYSE: AMC) in the media. The pumping from WallStreetBets drove RKT stock up from around $19 to as high as $41.10 and then back down to under $26 in a matter of about two weeks. Rocket also unfortunately captured the attention of Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets community. However, I don’t think it’s generally a good idea to invest in a cyclical company right at the potential peak of a cycle. I like the company, and I like its business. I agree with much of Kupferberg’s take on RKT stock. But Kupferberg says Rocket could gain market share during the downturn, potentially positioning it to be an even bigger winner during the next upswing.īank of America has a “buy” rating and a $27 price target on RKT stock. If interest rates start rising sooner or more steeply than anticipated, that downturn could be a sharp one. In other words, those who invested in RKT stock should brace themselves for the beginning of a cyclical downturn in the mortgage market. “We believe this backdrop creates an opportunity for RKT to gain market share and its low cost ‘assembly of mortgages’ business model is better suited to protect margin than many peers,” he says. “Expectations for mortgage originator stocks have weakened recently due to increase in interest rates as investors are concerned about mortgage volumes and margins in a rising rate environment,” Kupferberg says.īut there is a silver lining for the owners of RKT stock. However, he is calling for full-year 2021 EPS of $2.24, down 45.5% from 2020. Bank of America analyst Jason Kupferberg is bullish on RKT stock. In February, Rocket’s Q2 guidance came in above analysts’ average outlook. But the reason the market is skeptical of Rocket is because it will soon face impossible year-over-year comparisons starting in the second quarter, since the Fed cut interest rates to 0% exactly one year ago. The stock trades at just 9.5 times forward earnings and 0.19 times trailing sales. Analysts’ TakeĪ quick glance at Rocket’s valuation metrics makes it seem like a screaming buy. It sold its shares to the public right when its business was likely peaking. Rocket may never again put up growth numbers rivaling 2020’s numbers. The company’s management decided to go public at what will likely end up being the peak of the mortgage cycle. They no longer had to worry about commute times, and they were no longer tethered to specific regions of the country.Īs a result, mortgage companies like Rocket experienced record growth in 2020. Many people’s jobs permanently shifted to remote work. In addition to historically low interest rates, Americans moved out of major cities and into the suburbs in droves.Ĭities known for their high costs of living, like New York and Los Angeles, were slammed by the pandemic. Mortgage rates plummeted, and a housing boom was triggered. When the pandemic hit, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates to 0%. There’s a good reason for what happened to Rocket’s business in 2020. If those growth numbers make you a bit skeptical, you’ve got sound investing sense. Rocket nearly increased its net income ten times in a single year. Rocket also reported $9.39 billion of net income in fiscal 2020, up 948%. In February, Rocket reported fiscal 2020 revenue of $15.73 billion, up 208% from 2019. But I definitely believe it should go on your list of stocks to potentially buy on the next market dip. I believe it’s still too early to be buying Rocket at this point. I’ve been recommending that investors avoid most 2020 IPO stocks like the plague. RKT stock is already up over 30% from its $18 IPO price back in August. Unlike other high-growth stocks, it also trades at a reasonable valuation. Not only is Rocket an extremely profitable company, but it reported record profits last year. 98 Casey Hampton NT ( IR Tooltip Injured reserve).19 Zamir Cobb WR ( IR Tooltip Injured reserve).37 Ainsley Battles S ( IR Tooltip Injured reserve).16 Charlie Batch QB ( IR Tooltip Injured reserve).Roster 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers final roster Notable additions include Ben Roethlisberger and Willie Parker. In Chinese they are traditionally called simply shi ( Chinese: 獅 pinyin: shī) meaning lion-the word shi itself is thought to be derived from the Persian word šer. Guardian lions are referred to in various ways depending on language and context. When used as statuary the pair would consist of a male leaning his paw upon an embroidered ball (in imperial contexts, representing supremacy over the world) and a female restraining a playful cub that is on its back (representing nurture). Pairs of guardian lion statues are still common and symbolic elements at the entrances to restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and other structures, with one sitting on each side of the entrance, in China and in other places around the world where the Chinese people have immigrated and settled, especially in local Chinatowns. They are also used in other artistic contexts, for example on door-knockers, and in pottery. Statues of guardian lions have traditionally stood in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, Imperial tombs, government offices, temples, and the homes of government officials and the wealthy, and were believed to have powerful mythic protective benefits. Used in imperial Chinese palaces and tombs, the lions subsequently spread to other parts of Asia including Japan (see komainu), Korea, the Philippines, Tibet, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, and Malaysia. The concept, which originated and became popular in Chinese Buddhism, features a pair of highly stylized lions-often one male with a ball which represents the material elements and one female with a cub which represents the element of spirit- that were thought to protect the building from harmful spiritual influences and harmful people that might be a threat. They are known in colloquial English as lion dogs or foo dogs / fu dogs. Typically made of stone, they are also known as stone lions or shishi ( 石獅 shíshī). Without proper rendering support, you may see question marks or boxes, misplaced vowels or missing conjuncts instead of Indic text.Ĭhinese guardian lions, or imperial guardian lions, are a traditional Chinese architectural ornament, but the origins lie deep in much older Indian Buddhist traditions.
